I received my CJ and all accessories, including the stand which I feel is quite essential to this setup. FWIW I did pay the extra shipping, although I do not think I needed to as all my items arrived a few days after paying the extra shipping. I have really been enjoying using the system for about 3 weeks now. I have followed all recommendations in your video posts, and
I was getting great crema using Lavazza Espresso roast. My issue is that my CJ unit has failed at the locking ring on the main unit - the plastic just cracked off at one of the "ears" or "tabs" while I was pumping. This looks to be a manufacturing defect as I had already made probably 50 espressos without issue. Unfortunately, since it's the main body that is damaged, I can no longer use the system. What is the process of getting this warrantied/replaced?
. Please let me know. Look forward to hearing from you soon!
I can see that the last post on this is from November last year, has anyone made any headway on this? Mine broke in the same place a couple of days ago. I'm a mechanical engineer. This is a design fault. It's obvious from the number of people demonstrating the exact same mechanical failure. I'd wager that there's a fatigue element to it. I'd been using my CJ for about 9 months, and once I got the hang of it, I was using it in a very consistent, i.e. little-to-no variation in how much I filled it, how hard I pumped it, etc. Yet, without changing my use of the thing (which was entirely within the recommended use), it broke. That's a design issue.
What's the solution here?
