How to use COFFEEJACK V2

DO NOT FORCE HANDLE
Remember that the handle drives a high torque gearbox inside the machine!
Forcing the handle in the anti-clockwise/clockwise position, past the point at which the
piston is at its highest/lowest position will damage internal components.
How to avoid damage: Before using the machine...test! Rotate the handle fully clockwise,
this will move the piston to the downward position. When it reaches its stopping point,
you will feel strong resistance against the handle as its maximum travel has been reached.
DO NOT continue rotation in the same direction!
Likewise, test the machine in the piston’s upward position by rotating anti-clockwise.
You will feel the same resistance when its maximum position has been reached. These
stopping points will soon become clear and you will notice the change in resistance
whilst using the machine compared to the resistance created by increasing pressure.
It is highly important that these piston travel points are recognised during pre-loading
and extraction.

DO NOT EXCEED 9 BAR
COFFEEJACK V2 has the power capability to exceed 9 Bar by a considerable amount due
to the high torque gearbox. However, this is not the goal!
DO NOT EXCEED 9 BAR
The pressure gauge clearly indicates a red warning zone. This warning zone is there for
two reasons:
1. To protect internal components of the machine
2. To elimate a poor tasting coffee due to ‘over pressure’ extraction.
Typically, most people extract espresso at around 6-8 bar. Whilst you can safely use the
machine at 9 Bar, anything over this pressure will start to extract the bitter notes of the
grind and result in a poor tasting espresso shot.
9 Bar is equivelent to 130 PSI. That’s approximately four times the pressure of an average
car tyre! Staying within this range ensures that COFFEEJACK V2 users remain safe and the
product internals do not become damaged.

REMOVE PORTAFILTER UPWARDS
For your safety and to prevent scalding, it is crucial to always remove the portafilter basket
while the COFFEEJACK V2 machine is inverted (upside down). This specific orientation
ensures that any hot water remaining after brewing is safely retained within the water
chamber, eliminating the risk of spillage and injury.
Before handling the portafilter basket, ensure all components have cooled completely, as
this part comes into direct contact with boiling water during operation.
Follow this removal sequence:
1. Detach the ‘Portafilter Holder’.
2. Remove the ‘Portafilter’.
3. To remove the ‘Shower Screen Seal’, gently grasp its outer rubber ring and lift straight
up. If it feels stuck, apply lighter pressure and twist carefully.
Ensure the portafilter holder is securely tightened before use, with enough resistance
felt as the portafilter engages with the seal. This is a threaded component, so make sure
the threads are properly aligned before tightening. Do NOT force the connection if the
threading does not turn smoothly; remove it and begin the connection process again.
WARNINGS
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DAMAGE TO THE MACHINE.
To ensure safe operation and prevent damage to your COFFEEJACK V2 portable espresso machine, please observe the
following:
Hot Surfaces & Scalding Hazard:
This appliance contains extremely hot liquids and steam during operation. Always exercise extreme caution when
operating. Keep hands and face clear of the dispensing area during operation and when releasing the ‘Portafilter Basket’
after use. Hot water and steam can cause severe burns.
Children and Pets: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. This appliance is not intended for use by children. Close
supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children or pets.
Stability & Spillage Prevention:
Do not use COFFEEJACK V2 without the use of a ‘COFFEEJACK Elevation Stand’ and/or ‘COFFEEJACK Tumbler.’ Failure to
do so could result in spillage and potential scalding.
Ensure the machine is placed on a flat, solid, and stable surface during filling and extraction, unless being used with the
‘COFFEEJACK Tumbler’. Extraction must always be performed in a static, upright machine position.
Avoid leaving the machine unattended during use.
Pressure Management:
Do not over-restrict the basket. This could result in seal failure if 9 Bar pressure is repeatedly exceeded.
Reduce pump speed immediately if 10 Bar pressure is reached.
Do not remove the basket during use. Allow to sufficiently cool and pressure to dissipate before removal.
Filling Instructions (Boiling Water):
Ensure both hands are clear from the machine before filling with boiling water.
Only pour boiling water into the ‘Water Chamber’ from the bottom of the machine.
Do not fill the gear section with water from the top.
Operation:
Rotate handle only when the machine is in an upright position during extraction.
Inspect the machine before use to ensure sealing components are free from debris or damage.
Maintenance & Cleaning:
Always allow components to cool before cleaning.
Do not damage the ‘Pressure Gauge Bar’ by using cleaning abrasives. This may compromise the high-pressure sealing.
Refer to the user manual ‘MAINTENANCE’ section for detailed cleaning instructions.
Travel & Storage:
Do not travel without protecting the machine in a suitable protective case (eg. COFFEEJACK Travel Case).
When not in use, store the machine in a cool, dry place.
Environmental Conditions: The machine should be used in conditions between -5 °C and 50 °C (23 °F and 122 °F) and
under normal atmospheric pressure conditions (0-3000m altitude).
Intended Use & Responsibility:
Do not use the machine for any other purpose than instructed.
COFFEEJACK LTD would decline all responsibility in the event of misuse.
Modifications: Do not attempt to modify or repair the appliance yourself, aside from replacing seals when required
(follow instructions in this manual). Unauthorised modifications may pose safety risks and machine failure.
