I literally received my coffeejack 30 mins ago. The extra $14 for shipping got it here, but it doesn't guarantee the thing will work. Pretty disappointed.
Steps were followed as in the videos. Did a light tap on the espresso. Pump speeds were slow: 3-5s down 1-2s up. The water level never changes. Tried the priming option: Press down and hold for 3s and quick release. Nothing.
The video is below of my first efforts. There is a slight bit of water that comes up around the piston as the piston is released and comes up, hope this doesn't mean there is a seal leak.
Any suggestions to help me get this working would be appreciated.
Seems like your one way valve popped out. Mine does the same. If you open it up you'll find the rubber valve loose inside.
To check that there is not a mechanical issue try it without coffee to make sure the water comes through OK. I tend to think though that it is probably too heavy tamp with too fine a grind, as I had a similar issue when I first used it. You need to avoid the bubbles as that is the pressure relief valve kicking in.
From the bubbles coming up as you press the pump down there's a problem with over pressure and the valve is going in recovery mode.
Also when you removed the filter basket you can hear a puff, that's the pressure escaping, that's the proof that the water/air isn't getting through the puck.
Try loading a little less coffee, coarsen the grind or a less heavy tamper action.
Or a combination of the above.
Good luck.
